Lights you should be seeing:

FTTN/FTTB - If your router is plugged in via a cable into a telephone socket

 

Power Broadband  Internet  Wireless 
On - Green On - Green On - Green On - Green

 

You may also have lights on for the Ethernet icon if you have devices cabled directly into the router.

 

FTTP/HFC/FTTC/Fixed Wireless - If your router is plugged in via a cable to a hand-off device (the nbn / OptiComm / LBNCo 'modem' on your wall)

Power  Broadband  Internet  Wireless 
On - Green Off On - Green On - Green

Overall light explanation:

 

Power  Solid Green The device is powered on and working properly.
Solid Red The device is booting or an error has occurred.
Off Power is off.
Broadband
(FTTN/FTTB/FTTR) 
Solid Green A proper connection to a DSL-enabled telephone line
Blinking Green Blinking red turning to green light indicates the DSL port is negotiating a connection.
Off No connection to a DSL-enabled telephone line.
Internet Solid Green Internet connection is available.
Blinking Green There is internet activity.
Solid Red A PPP or DHCP failure. Check your username and password.
Blinking Red/Green Alternates between red for 1 second then green for 1 second indicate that the firmware is currently being updated.
Off No broadband connection was available, or the Internet connection attempt timed out.
Wireless  Solid Green Either of the 2.4/5 GHz wireless networks is enabled.
Blinking Green There is wireless activity.
Off The wireless functionality is disabled.
Ethernet  Solid Green A device is connected to the respective LAN port
Blinking Green There is LAN port activity
Off No Ethernet devices are connected.
WPS  Blinking Green The WPS process is active.
