Configuring Your Huawei HG630 - Initial Steps

Plug Huawei HG630 into a Power Source

1. Ensure that the power cable provided in the device packaging is connected to a power socket on the wall

2. Confirm that the device is receiving power after the power point is switched on

   • You can confirm this by checking if the status lights on the device are flashing or solid green

2. Connect to the device

1. Via WiFi

   1. Using your wireless device (e.g. computer), search for available wireless networks and select the router's wifi network.

      • By default, the wifi network name (SSID) can be found printed on the barcode sticker on the back of the device.

   2. Enter the Security Key

      • By default, the security key (WLAN Key) can be found printed on the barcode sticker on the back of the device, click ‘connect’ or ‘join’
2. Via Cable
   1. Once the device is connected successfully to power you can easily connect an Ethernet cable from the device (LAN1 highlighted in the picture below) to the Ethernet port of your computer or laptop.
      • Please note, if using a Macbook or iMac you will need a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter to connect via this method

3. Accessing the device

1. Once you’ve successfully connected to the network via WiFi or Ethernet cable, you will be able to access the device browsing to http://192.168.1.1

4. Accessing the Administration Portal

1. After following the steps above, you should be taken to the login screen:

   

2. The device's default access credentials will be printed on the barcode sticker on the back of the device.

3. Enter the Username and Password and click ‘Log in’
